Green Beans

Green beans is a wonderful, nutritious meal that will be well accepted by both kids and adults.

One of the most delicious Greek recipes is the green bean recipe. Ideal for a family of four, this dish will easily become one of your favourites. Equally wonderful both for lunch and dinner.

 

  • 1 kg green beans
  • 350 ml water
  • 2 onions sliced
  • 2 cups of olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of sliced parsley
  • 1 kg tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of white pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder

METHOD

Clean the beans and cut the edges with a knife. Rinse well and let them drain for five minutes. Sautee the onions  with the olive oil in a saucepan. Add the tomatoes and the beans and sautee together for about 5 minutes. Add the water slowly and start boiling. Add the parsley, the salt, the white  pepper powder and the garlic powder  and stir well for 5 minutes . Cover and cook slowly for approximately 45-50 minutes. When you see a thick, oily sauce at the end, it means that the meal is ready. To make the dish even more tasty, you can add two sliced potatoes and two sliced carrots.
