Do It Yourself: Garlic Dipping Sauce
Did the pizza delivery place forget your dipping sauce? Do you need garlic sauce to serve with Scampi? This sauce takes about five minutes to make and it is absolutely delicious!
The quantities below are what we use at home for two 12″ pizzas
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 – 2 tbsp softened butter (depending on desired consistency)
- 2 cloves of garlic – diced/pressed
- Oregano, Thyme, Italian Herbs
- Pepper
If you don’t have butter that is already soft – i.e. it’s in the fridge – then you can melt it and mix it with the mayonnaise and garlic. The sauce will be slightly less thick, but the taste will still be the same.
Method
In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, butter and garlic. You can use less butter depending on the consistency that you want the sauce to be. The less butter you add, the more mayonnaise-like the sauce will be; the more butter you add, the thicker it will be.
The best way to mix it is with a whisk – an egg beater is ideal, as it makes the sauce more fluffy; but a fork or spoon are also fine with mix with – it will just take a bit more elbow grease.
Add some pepper, oregano, thyme and any other italian spices you want to use. If you are using unsalted butter, you may want to add a little salt.
Bon Appetit!

I used vegan ingredients…it was a little runnier than i’d like…chilling it for a few hours after mixing might help…
I will DEFINITELY be making this again!
Thank you.
