Easy to Make Bechamel Sauce

The quickest way to make this sauce. Goes well with all pasta dishes specially lasagna.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp white flour
  • 2tbsp butter
  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 3-4 pepper corns
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Method

  1. Heat butter on a low flame and quickly add in the flour. stir well quickly for about half a minute and immediately pour in the milk.
  2. Keep stirring continuously,raising the heat a little now. Put in the bay leaf ,pepper corns and thyme.
  3. Remove from stove when thick. If it’s turned very thick,add in more milk until a smooth white paste is formed.
  4. Allow to cool a little. Then remove the bay leaf and peppercorns from it. Season with salt and black pepper.
