Glaze for a Ham Dinner

published by skylite on Mar 1, 2009

This is a nice sweet sauce or glaze that can be added to your ham.

Ingredients

1 can pineapples

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp dried mustard

4- 5 cloves

cherries ( optional)

How To Prepare

Add cloves to your ham and bake your ham until fully cooked. To make your sauce, pour the juice from your pineapples into a bowl. Mix your brown sugar and dried mustard and mix well. Pour over top of your ham. Now use your pineapples to put on top of your ham. Use toothpicks to hold them in place and add cherries over top of your toothpicks. This will make your ham dinner look good as well as tastes great. Throw back in the oven on low for a few hours. The longer you let it simmer in the oven, the longer the sauce will have a chance to work into your ham.

When you are ready to eat, remove the cloves and dispose. Pour your left over sauce into a measuring cup or bowl. You can use this to pour over your ham or your potatoes on your plate. Remove pineapples and cherries and place them in a dish to have as a sidemeal with your dinner.

This sauce has a very nice flavor to add to any ham dinner and your ham will look very attractive rather then a plain boring regular ham dinner. Enjoy !

I have tried this, but without the cloves. I bet that will give the ham a great taste though. Next time I cook a ham, I will try the glaze with cloves. Thanks
