Hummus
Need a tasty, topping or dip. Give this delicious Hummus recipe a try. It tastes great with crackers or on fresh baked bread. This home made Hummus, is really easy to make.

This delicious hummus recipe, uses tasty chickpeas and Tahini as its main ingredients. The delightful taste of hummus, spread on bread or used to dip, your favorite snacks, is delectable. Hummus is a really simple sauce to make, but it will take about six hours for the chickpeas to absorb enough water. And another hour and a half to cook them. I recommend, soaking the chickpeas overnight and making the next day.
Ingredients
- 1lb Chickpeas
- 1⁄2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 15oz Tahini
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice Salt (Freshly Squeezed)
Method
Soak the chickpeas in cold water for six hours. Drain, put in a saucepan and cover with water. Then add the baking powder and bring to a boil and cook for ten minutes. Reduce to a simmer, and cook for 1-1⁄2 hours until the chickpeas are soft and mash able. Drain the chickpeas, put in a bowl and mash with a fork. Add the remaining ingredients and 7fl oz water. Mix well and chill for at least three hours before serving.
