Mango Sauce

published by TechDoc on Feb 21, 2009

Overall this mango sauce goes really well when partnered with poultry, fish and practically any stir-fry that you care to dream up.

Here we have a mango sauce that is at once very simple and straight forward to make and yet quite remarkable in that it demonstrates great versatility while preserving its natural tropical roots.

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Ripe Mango
  • ½ Cup of Honey
  • 3 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce (I usually use the Kikkoman)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic

Method

  1. Peel and pit the mango
  2. Peel and dice onion into small pieces
  3. Use a garlic press to mince the 3 cloves of garlic
  4. Now add the mango, honey, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, soy sauce, onion and garlic into your food processor and process until well blended, but not runny
  5. Pour the processed sauce into a fry pan and over a high heat setting bring the sauce to a boil
  6. Reduce the temperature to low immediately upon the sauce reaching a boil
  7. Let the sauce simmer for another minute or two
  8. Once ready you may transfer the mango sauce to a serving bowl to permit its use as a dipping sauce or alternatively spoon the mango sauce directly over the food which it is to accompany immediately prior to serving

Enjoy!
