Salsa – The South African Way
How to make salsa.
Ingredients
- Two large firm tomatoes (finely chopped and juice strained)
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 medium, sized bird eye chillies (finely chopped)
- white pepper
- sprinkle of salt
- sprinkle of dry basil
- sprinkle of dry parlsey
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Tip
For best aroma and taste, prepare the salsa an hour before serving and refrigerate.
Method
- Mix the chopped tomatoes, onion and chillies and mix
- Sprinkle the salt, dry basil, dry parsley, white pepper and mix
- Cover and leave in the fridge until near serving time
- Add the balsamic vinegar
- Add the olive oil, mix and let your guests enjoy.
Serves 4 but proportion in ingredients can be increased to serve more.
