Easy Peasy Pizza Scrolls

This is a really easy and delicious recipe. Great as snacks or to take on picnics.

Ingredients:

2 cups of self raising flour

30g (or 1 tablespoon) butter or marg – melted

Milk to make up 1 cup of liquid with melted butter or marg

Tomato sauce (ketchup) OR BBQ sauce

1 cup grated cheese

1 cup grated ham/bacon/ or sandwich meat of your choice

Method:

Pre-heat oven to 200 deg.C (425F)

Place flour into large bowl and make a well in the center.

Pour cup of liquid into well and mix with butter knife until mixture forms a soft dough (you may need to get your hands in for the last part).

Need very lightly on floured surface.

Using a rolling pin, roll out to a rectangle approx. 50cm x 30cm

Spread with a generous layer of sauce leaving approx. 1” around the outside.

Evenly spread the meat over the sauce and top with the cheese.

Starting from the long end (and wetting the opposite end to stick) – roll like you would a Swiss roll.

Cut into pieces approx. 2 ½ “ and place cut side down onto a greased tray.

(don’t place them too close as they spread!)

Bake in oven for approx. 20 minutes.

These are delicious eaten while still warm

You can just about add anything to these – try any of the following for a change:

Cheese and vegemite/promite/marmite

Chocolate hazelnut spread with slices of banana

Jam and grated apple
