Homemade Guacamole

Not only is guacamole easy to make, its versatility means that knowing how to make your own guacamole is a most useful skill to have in your repertoire.

Homemade Guacamole Ingredients:

  • 2 Large Avocados
  • 3 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tablespoons of Crème Fraiche
  • 1 Clove of Garlic
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Freshly Ground Sea Salt
  • 1 Pinch of Dried Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 Dash of Tabasco Sauce (optional)

Method:

  1. Peel and crush the garlic (using a garlic press is easiest)
  2. Halve and stone the avocados
  3. Scoop out the avocado flesh into a mixing bowl
  4. Add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to the avocado flesh and mash
  5. Stir in the crushed garlic, 3 tablespoons of crème fraiche and salt and pepper to taste
  6. Add a pinch of dried chili flakes and a dash of Tabasco sauce (optional)
  7. Give guacamole another stir and serve

Serving:

  • Guacamole may be served as is, for dipping or spreading on toast as well as to embellish numerous other dishes including chili, soups, salads, burgers, tortillas, sandwiches, tacos, casseroles and stews
  • Try using your homemade guacamole pretty much like any condiment, particularly in partnership with mayonnaise
  • You will also find that guacamole can be very useful as a component of many dips such as sour cream and guacamole dip
