These spreads are inexpensive and simple to make, will keep stored in the refrigerator for up to a week and are delicious enough just to use as a sandwich filling.
Zesty white bean spread will add a citrus zest flavor to your sandwich and be an added source of protein. Can be used alone as the sandwich filling.
Rinse and drain one 15 ounce can of white cannelloni beans. Place beans in a food processor along with 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon zest, 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. process the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Makes 1 cup of tasty sandwich spread.
Blue cheese and walnut butter sandwich spread is provides a taste sensation that is both smooth and crunchy. In a mixing bowl, place 1/2 cup soft butter and 1/2 cup blue cheese and mixing until smooth. Add 1/4 cup toasted walnut pieces and mix until blended.
This spread will sneak in the nutritious green vegetables into your sandwich and add a powerful peppery treat. Mince 1/3 cup of arugula and 1/3 cup of radicchio.
