Time to spread those crackers! Make delicious spreads for a party or just for the family.
Cheddar Spread with Beer
12 ounce can of beer
1 1/2 pounds of sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 pound blue cheese, crumbled
2 tablespoons soft butter
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Open beer and let stand while preparing remaining ingredients. Mix until smooth and creamy with beer, using an electric blender or mixer until smooth.
Creamy Cracker Spread
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can or 1 package of frozen crab meat
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 cup celery, chopped fine
8 ounce package of cream cheese
1 envelope of unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup hot water
Heat mushroom soup and cream cheese, cook until smooth, add gelatin that has been dissolved in hot water, onion, celery, crab; mix. Fold in mayonnaise. Put in a mold and chill for 12 hours.
8 ounces cream cheese
1 can popcorn shrimp
Wheat thins (Reduced fat wheat thins is a good idea.)
Whip cream cheese with lemon juice (to taste). Put cheese into bowl or dish. Sprinkle shrimp over the top. Add cocktail sauce over the top.
Liver Sausage Spread
4 ounces liver sausage
1 dill pickle minced or sweet pickle
1/2 cup minced celery
2 tablespoons onion
2 tablespoons pickle juice (from pickle jar)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Few drops hot pepper sauce
Combine all ingredients. Salt and pepper to taste.
