A Chunky Soup Recipe
Having this for dinner tonight. In fact just turned off the stove and thought I’d check out how my Triond world is doing today (not too great! Just made a cent since yesterday!).
Anyway a big "hello" everybody. It’s cold out here, in the north of UK! And after I finish with this article, I am going to be watching television and having my delicious "chunky soup with warm buttered rolls!"
What does my chunky soup contain?
Chopped vegetable(today I used frozen mixed vegetables from Morrisons-supermarket. Otherwise I usually use a mix of chopped carrots, beans, cabbage, peas, cauliflour). You can use any vegetables of your choice. I would suggest to use at least 3 different types of your favourite veggies.
2 strips bacon cut into small bits
200 grams chopped chicken breasts
1 potato cut in cubes
1 onion
1 cube of knorr chicken stock
3 cloves(optional)
1 tbsp of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
3 cups of water
This Chunky soup is really very easy and simple to prepare. Heat the oil, add the onion and potato. Fry for a 3-5 minutes on medium flame then add the bacon and chicken, cloves. You may also put in a pinch or two of turmeric(I do for the many health benefits of turmeric! And it also gives the soup a nice colour and flavour). When the meat is done add the chopped vegetables , water, Knorr, salt and pepper. Bring the soup to boil and then lower the flame and let it simmer for at least twenty minutes(lesser if you are using frozen vegetables.
Serve soup with buttered rolls or crusty bread or just have it plain! OK hope you enjoyed reading this. Bye for now.

Not garlic. Cloves like the ones used in clove oil…but it’s not absolutely necessary.
