Basic American Barbecue Dry Rub

Start to finish: five min.
Makes about: one 1/4 c.

1/4 c. kosher or coarse salt

1/4 c. packed dark brown sugar

1/4 c. paprika

3 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper

1 tbsp. garlic powder

1 tbsp. dried onion flakes

1/2 – 1 tsp. cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp. celery seeds

In med. bowl, combine all ingredients & whisk well.  Transfer to jar, cover & store away from heat & light.  The rub will keep for several months.
