Carrot Porridge

Try this recipe below before you dismiss it – it is cheap and takes only 15-20 minutes to prepare. It is very delicious has a lovely peach colour, it seems and taste almost like ice-cream, your children will love it.

Carrot is a vegetable that is found throughout the world and many people love it in fresh vegetables salads as fresh juice. Some have tried it in baked products but not many individuals would think of using it to make porridge.

Here is a recipe for carrot which I must say is very delicious, and is economical both on time and on money.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups peeled and dice carrots
  • 4 ½ cups water
  • 1 pack Lasco whole milk
  • 8 tbsp flour
  • 1 /2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • ¾ tsp salt

Method

  1. Blend carrot into two cups of water and salt .Boil in one cup of water for15 minutes.
  2. Blend flour into 1cup of water and add to carrot and simmer for 3minutes keep stirring to avoid lumping.
  3. Blend milk into 1/2 cup water and add to carrot mixture.
  4. Add sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg, boil for 3minutes.
  5. Serve with toasted bread and butter.

Gives 4 servings.
