Corn Chip Casserole

1 pound ground beef
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (6 ounce) package corn chips
2 teaspoons instant onion
about 1/2 cup water
1/2 pound monterey jack cheese, grated
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons brown sugar
salt to taste
Brown beef until no longer pink; drain. Add rest of ingredients, except cheese and chips. Heat. Place 1 cup chips in casserole. Top with 1/2 of meat mixture and 1/2 of cheese. Add 1 cup chips and remainder of meat. Top with remainder of cheese and end with corn chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
