Dad’s Chicken Divan

published by Freethinking on Jan 25, 2011

Here is another recipe and my take on chicken divan. This is as easy as cutting, chopping and pouring ingredients and the taste is out of this world.

First we have the chickens.

Then we have the broccoli. Oh boy, it’s getting good already. Now all we need do is start slicing, cubing, mixing and pouring our ingredients into a casserole dish for a dinner that is both easy and scrumptious.

INGREDIENTS

5 SKINLESS BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS (CUBED)

2 FLOWERING HEADS OF BROCCOLI

1/2 CUP OF MAYONNAISE

1/2 CUP OF CHICKEN BROTH

1/2 CUP GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE

1 CUP OF SOUR CREAM

1 CAN CREAM OF CHICKEN SOUP

1 TEASPOON OF LEMON JUICE

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

13 X 9 BAKING DISH

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While the oven is heating, clean and cut the broccoli, leaving some of the stems and lay on un-greased bottom of baking dish. Take the cubed chicken and place on top of the broccoli. Place all of the other ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Pour over chicken and broccoli. Cover the top with more grated Parmesan cheese and then sprinkle paprika over the top. Bake for 55 minutes to one hour.

I serve chicken divan with extra wide egg noodles and have yet to receive a complaint from any of our dinning guests. This recipe is a definite keeper.

I certainly hope you give Dad’s Chicken Divan a try. If you like chicken and you enjoy broccoli, then you won’t be disappointed.

I want this tonight! I wish my mom would make this a regular meal of ours each week. But we have to make less and it is just the two of us and neither of us eat a lot.

What a great recipe this is. I have one for Chicken Divan that actually, I made tonight for dinner. It is similar to yours, and yet very different, in that I use curry powder – but not too much!
