Easy to Make Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs
An easy and tasty recipe that anyone can make.
Turkey meet is considered to be more healthy than the rest of the meets so when I found this recipe in my grandma’s cooking book I replaced the beef with it and it turn out to be delicious.
For this tasty spaghetti and turkey meatballs recipe you need:
-1 pack of spaghetti ( about 300 grams)
-salt and pepper
-3 spoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
For the sauce:
-1 medium size chopped onion
-5 chopped cloves garlic
-1 can of diced tomatoes
-1 can of tomato paste
-1 beaten egg
-1/2 cup red wine ( optional)
For the meatballs:
-250 g minced turkey
-1 cup of bread (cut the crust off, use just the soft middle)
-1/2 cup milk
-2 tablespoons cooking oil
Start by preparing the meatballs. Soak the bread in milk until it absorbes the liquid, then add the egg and the meat and mix until combined. Add salt and pepper to your taste. Gently roll small balls out of the meat mix ( about 2 cm ). Heat a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the oil and cook the meatballs until light brown, turning occasionally. Take the meatballs out and set aside.
In the remaining grease, cook the chopped onion until it turn gold then add the canned tomatoes and the tomato paste and cook for 15-20 min over low heat. Add the meatballs and the wine and cook for 30 min over low heat. Add salt and pepper to your taste.
While the sauce and meatballs are cooking in the sauce pan, cook the spaghetti using the instructions on the package. My husband likes them al dente (firm but not hard) so I always cook them for 7 minute is salted water in which I put 1 spoon of oil so the spaghetti are not sticky.
On a flat plate, form a nest of spaghetti and place the sauce and turkey meatballs on top. Optional, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Goes great with a glass of red wine.
Enjoy!
