Healthy for The Holidays
A few tips on how to stay healthy during the holidays.
The holidays are here and it is a time for friends, family, love, laughter, and giving. Unfortunately this also means that all kinds of bugs, bacteria, and viruses are going to try and put a damper on your holiday cheer. Below are a a few suggestions to keep you healthy for the holidays.
Wash Your Hands Often
This may seem simple, but is very often over looked. Think about it for a second. You’ve been sitting at the computer now reading this article for probably 30 seconds or so. How many times have your hands touched your face? Probably at least once, but the more important question is what were your hands touching before they touched your face? The keyboard, the mouse, maybe a remote control, all of which other members of your family probably had their hands on as well. This gives germs that may have been living on other family members a chance to cross over onto you. However, all of this could have been prevented by simply washing your hands, or even using hand sanitizer.
Stay Away From the Sick People
Obviously this will be hard to do considering the time of year and all the family gatherings and what not that are going on. I’m not saying that you have to avoid your loved ones, and skip all of the family dinners. That would just be crazy. However, if you know someone is sick then just try to stand a half foot further back or so, and try to avoid physical contact. I’m sure they will understand.
Healthy Diet
It’s holiday time so of course you are going to be eating a ton of food. Their is nothing wrong with that. You just have to ensure that you aren’t eating a ridiculous amount of sweets, and that you continue to eat your fruits and veggies. All of this will keep your body, and your immune system working properly.
Cold FX
This stuff can be a life saver. At the first sign of a cold or flu you should make sure that you take a few of these bad boys. They temporarily boost your immune system, giving it the strength to fight off any of the nasty bugs trying to take over your body.
The Best Remedy
If you incorporate all of this, and still manage to get sick then you are a very unlucky person. Luckily I have a cure for almost any flu. Chicken noodle soup. Include this in your regular diet and you’ll be feeling better in no time!
