How to Make Batchoy Special

Mouth-watering dish.

One of the favorite dishes of Filipinos is the Batchoy. In fact, I’m one of those Filipinos who loves batchoy. I remember, as I was eating batchoy with my father in a certain restaurant,  I can’t help but ask my dad how it is done.  And I was amazed because it was just easy and simple. Now, I want to share this recipe and hopefully, you will love this dish too.


4 cloves garlic

1 medium size onion

1/4 kl beef cut into strips

1 piece long pepper

1 can tomato sauce

2 packs noodles

1/8 tsp pepper powder

2 tbsp patis

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tbsp salt

4 stalks onion leaves

5 cups water

1/2 cup green papaya

1/4 kl. beef liver cut into strips


1. Deep-fry garlic, onion, beef and beef liver in oil. Fry for 10 minutes 

2. Put in 5 cups of water, tomato sauce, green papaya and long pepper. 

3. Simmer until cooked.

4. Add noodles and continue simmering for 3 minutes until cooked. Season the mixture with salt.
