- 1 onion, minced
- 1/4 cup margarine or other fat
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup meat stock or water
- 1 bouillon cube
- 1 cup vegetable cooking water
- 1 tall can evaporated milk
- 1 cup cooked vegetables

Method
cook onion for 2 to 3 minutes in fat; blend in flour. add liquids gradually, stirring until smooth. cook until thickened, stirring constantly. add cooked vegetables, cut in small pieces. season to taste with salt, pepper, a dash of Worcestershire, a few grains of nutmeg.heat thoroughly.
