Oriental Casserole

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups diced celery
1 cup uncooked rice
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) mushroom soup
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) cream of chicken soup
2 cups water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 can bean sprouts (wash well)
1 can water chestnuts (optional)
Brown ground beef in skillet. In a mixing bowl, blend the soups, soy sauce and water. Place celery, onion, bean sprouts and chestnuts in bottom of buttered casserole. Pour blended soup mixture over vegetables, spread browned meat over top, then sprinkle rice over meat. Bake for 2 hours and 15 minutes in 325 degree oven. Stir with fork once or twice during last 15 minutes of baking time.
