Potluck Casserole

1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (No. 303) can kidney beans
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 cup grated sharp cheese
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until tender; drain. Brown ground beef and onions. Add tomato sauce and cook gently 5 minutes. Combine all ingredients and pour into greased casserole and sprinkle a little additional cheese on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
