Romanian traditional recipe

Stuffed Peppers

-         10 to 14 peppers, depending on size

-         500 g ground pork

-         500 g ground beef -

-         1 / 2 cup rice -

-         2 onions

-         1 – 2 eggs

-         2 tomatoes, optional

-         4 tablespoons oil

-         2 tablespoons flour

-         1 / 2 l broth

-         1 teaspoon sugar

-         8 to 10 tablespoons sour cream or fat yogurt

-         1 bunch fresh dill, chopped

-         1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped -

-         -salt – pepper –

Preparation:

Choose peppers to be approximately the same size, round and fleshy, wash them, clean them from seeds and tabs and leave them upside down to drain.

Saute in a little hot oil 1 chopped onion and add it above the ground meat.

Separately, cooked rice, 2 to 3 min, in slightly salty water, then put it to drain.

Toss meat in a bowl with onion, rice, half the chopped greens, egg, salt, pepper and fill the peppers without very strong press.

Put them in a saucepan with the mouth up. Above each pepper place a round slice of tomato or pepper. Make a sauce from one onion, one tablespoon of flour and sugar, plus water. Let the sauce to boil for a couple of minutes. Pour sauce over peppers. Place pan in oven for one hour.

Serve the hot peppers with sauce and sour cream (optional).
