published by commischefguide on May 12, 2011

A rich soup smokey lentils and hot dogs..I mean frankfurters combine for a nice
warning soup for these cold summer days (if any)

8 PORTIONS

1 onion,1 carrot,1 clove garlic,3 rashers of bacon smoked,500g yellow split peas,1.5litres of stock,2 bay leaves,8 frankfurters (german)

METHOD

Peel and chop vegetables, garlic, puree in blender until finely chopped, fry mixture until softened add peas, stock and cook simmiring for a good hour and a half check the peas to make sure they have softened enough add more stock if you need to remove bay leaves and add chopped frankfurters to the soup.

You can puree the soup a bit by removing half for a smoothish consistency, serve with crusty bread.
