Baking Powder Biscuits

Aside from unleavened bread, the baking powder or baking sods biscuit is probably the earliest bread known to man. They have been around for a very long time and they are easy to make. You can use a variety of flours or combine them but I usually use unbleached white flour. Mix them up, pat them flat and cook them on a stone over an open fire and you have stone bread; it is great for camping. Baking powder biscuits are versatile and you can add a variety of things to them so long as you stick to the same basic recipe. Here it is. This is my grandmother’s recipe and these are great biscuits.
