While this cake is best baked in a beautiful bundt pan, it can also be baked in a nine x 13-inch baking pan. Simply check it for doneness after 40 minutes and leave it in the pan and drizzle the top of the cake with the glaze. However, if you are going to be entertaining, I’d highly recommend pulling out your bundt pan and some baking spray and letting this dessert be the showcase that it is!

What is a Bundt Pan?

Bundt pans and fluted tube pans have similarities that allow them to be used interchangeably for some recipes. Both have a tube in the center to increase the surface to volume ratio of the finished cake. A fluted tube cake pan without a nonstick finish may be used for baking angel-food cake and bundt pans are used for baking more dense pound-cake type cakes. Since angel-food cakes are typically baked in non-fluted tube pans without a nonstick finish, for most intents and purposes, a fluted tube pan is the same as a bundt pan.
