I grew up poor in southeastern Ky. in a small coal-mining community. Times were hard and most of the people raised a garden to provide food. People are devout Christians.Pinto beans were and still are a part of evening suppers there. I moved away and went to the city. Tried every kind of culture’s food. Still love to go home and have some Soup Beans. One of my favorites.
