This recipe is from my grandmother. It used to be that veggies were never left on the vine to spoil or freeze. Great lengths were taken to make sure every bit of food was used or preserved for the winter. Green tomato relish is one of the dishes that utilizes the bounty of the harvest for enjoyment all through the year.

This is my mother’s recipe for piccalilli which I just love on hot dogs.
