Trying different foods from various cultures is a great way to add some excitement as well as new flavors to dinner time. I’ve found most are wonderfully delicious and make my meals fun and interesting to eat. There are hundreds of ways to fix chicken besides just plain baked, fried or barbecued and this is one of my favorites. It is from Mexico and it is delicious.

I don’t often make a fancy dessert but every now and then there is an occasion that calls for it and I have several recipes. More often than not though I try to make something fruity unless the occasion calls for something specific like a favorite birthday cake. Poached pears are one of my favorites. I used to have an elderly Greek lady for a neighbor several years ago and I loved visiting with her. She told marvelous stories about the "old Country" and she always served delicious soup. She insisted that soup was an important part of the daily diet and made sure that we got our bowl of soup every time we came to visit.
