On my trawl through the archives I came across this vegetarian recipe which should appeal to vegetarians and meat lovers alike. The main ingredient, vegetable suet, may not be readily available in the US but, at the bottom of the recipe I have found a couple of websites where you can order British food online, so if you don’t like the recipe, you may find some other things on there to tickle your taste buds!

Stir-fries are a great way to eat healthily. And the best thing is you can make them different every time – try out new combinations of your favourite veg and spices.

I’m a great lover of minestrone soup but tend to opt for the more convenient and quicker canned variety. However, this one caught my eye. It’s just simple to do with very limited preparation necessary!

Most definitely one for Halloween! The soup is ideal for cold, hungry kids when they get back from tricking and treating although I suspect most kids would prefer it without the blue cheese. On the other hand, if you’re having an adult Halloween party then the blue cheese just adds another dimension.

This has a lovely combination of flavours and, into the bargain, it’s relatively cheap, quick to prepare and great for vegetarians.

So many tagine recipes call for lamb but I was interested to find this vegan version which, although taking quite a bit of preparation and requiring a lot of ingredients, would be well worth it for a dinner party. Alternatively, you could make the dish up as it serves four and just freeze it and have it another day.
