For as long as I can remember and well before I was born, folks in my family have been baking One Egg Cake. The story is that the recipe originated among the peasants of France, was carried to England and then to America. I don’t know. It is just a story but I tell you true, the cake is wonderfully good and it is versitile.

Date-nut bread is one of the quick breads or sweet breads that you do not have to wait to rise before baking. This is one of my favorite holiday breads though it is equally delicious any time of year. Here is how to make it.

This is my kids favorite variation of the 10 Day Amish Bread. When I make it, it disappears. I actually make it in a brownie pan or muffin tins to try to give the kids their serving size. This is seriously good bread!

Pan de Muerto is a traditional sweet bread eaten for El Dia de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. All Souls Day (2 November) honours the departed in many celebrations. Decorated loaves of Pan de Muerto are often left as an offering on family altars in remembrance.
