Tilapia Cakes

Quick, Easy, Delicious. Just like Tuna Cakes, but Tilapia absorbs more flavors so I liked these better!

This is part 3 in my Tilapia series of delights.  Here are links to the other two delicious recipes!

1: Mandarin Orange Glazed Tilapia

2: Dill and Lemon Tilapia

Tilapia cakes are just as good, if not better than Tuna Cakes.  I think the texture is even closer to crab than Tuna can get so it’s even more of a plus for me.  Let’s get started shall we.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp Mustard
  • 2 tsp Relish
  • 1 tbsp Bread Crumbs Italian Seasoned
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Dill
  • 2 Tilapia Filets
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil (Just for the pan for frying!!!)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  2. Place the 2 tilapia filets on a small baking pan
  3. Hit them with the salt, pepper, and dill
  4. Toss them in the heated oven for 7-10 minutes until flaky
  5. Take them out of the Oven
  6. Toss them into a bowl
  7. Break them up with a wooden spoon until small and tuna from a can like
  8. Toss them in a fridge for about a half hour to an hour
  9. When they’re cold, mix them up with the remaining ingredients
  10. Pat them into small patties
  11. In a pan heat to medium high heat and add the oil
  12. Put the patties into the oil and wait 3 or 4 minutes until the bottom is getting a golden brown
  13. Flip them and repeat the 3 to 4 minutes for another side of golden brown
  14. Remove from pan
  15. EAT!

I hope you guys like these, I love them and eat them quite constantly.  Let me know what you think!
