Phirni

A delicious dessert…

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp ground rice or rice powder
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 4-5 almonds and pistachios chopped or sliced for garnishing
  • 1 pinch cardamom powder

Method:

  • Bring the milk to boil in a pan. Simmer and keep stirring.
  • Mix the rice powder with a little cold milk to make a smooth paste with enough consistency.
  • Add this to boiling milk.
  • Cook by stirring continuously till the milk gets thick and creamy.
  • Add the sugar and condensed milk. Cook for further five minutes.
  • Remove from heat and transfer onto an earthen pot.
  • Garnish with the pistachios, almonds and cardamom powder.
  • Refrigerate the phirni for approximately two hours.
  • Serve chilled. Enjoy!
