Quick Spicy Chicken Curry

published by Mythili Kannan on Sep 18, 2009

Yet I don’t like chicken.

I’m an egg eater; where as my husband and kid love to eat anything except ship in water, aero plane in air and human beings in land. So I learnt the art of cooking non vegetarian foods also. One of my husband’s favorite dishes is the spicy chicken gravy I make for him. It is very simple to cook according to me and it is very tasty according to my husband and son.

Here is the required items and method to make.

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 1kg with or without bone
  • Onion – 2 (big)
  • Green Chili – 3
  • Tomato – 1 medium size
  • Turmeric powder – 1 small tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Ginger and Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – a little
  • Oil

Method

Clean the chicken and cut into medium size pieces. Chop the onion finely. Heat the pan. Pour oil and fry the onion and cut chili, till onion turns golden brown. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry till the fresh smell of the paste vanishes. Add tomato and smash it. Add turmeric, chili and coriander powders. Keep roasting for a while. Then add salt. Add the cleaned chicken and little water. Cook until chicken is ready and gravy smells good (without fresh smell of chicken). It is always good to cook in medium flame. Finally add curry leaves on the top, after removing the curry from flame.

You can adjust the spices according to your taste. Have a nice weekend.
