Time Saver : Super Simple Lamb Briyani Recipe

There are many ways and method to prepare Lamb Briyani. As a person who loves short-cuts, I had experimented on an easy and quick way to cook Lamb Briyani. It turned out really well and taste great too. All you need is a deep non stick pan or pot for cooking and all the ingredients required. Lamb Briyani could be served with raita and appalam. Lamb Briyani could be also served with curries and any form of crackers.

Ingredients

1 pound lamb (Chopped into small cubed)

1 big tomato (Chopped into small cubed)

1 big onion (sliced thinly)

2 tbsp ginger garlic  paste

2 star anise

5 cloves

3 cardamons

2 cinnamon sticks

6 tbsp of briyani masala mix (you can get this in any indian store or online)

2 cups long grain rice (washed and soaked for 10 mins)

4 cups water

2 tbsp ghee

salt as required

Method

  1. Heat ghee in the pan, fry the onions until light brown
  2. then add tomatoes and fry for 1 min
  3. add all the spices and fry
  4. add ginger/garlic paste and Briyani Masala Mix and stir well
  5. add the lamb cubes and combine well
  6. cook close on medium flame until oil separates
  7. drain rice and add into the mixture and combine well
  8. then all water and salt and mix well
  9. cook on medium flame until lamb meat is fully cooked
  10. the reduce to low flame to cook the rice
  11. stir occassionally to prevent the bottom from burning
  12. test to check if lamb and rice fully cooked before turning off the flame.
  13. then let the Briyani sit on the stove covered for at 15 mins before serving
