Hot Tomato Soup

published by Mythili Kannan on Sep 23, 2009

Delicious in winter.

Winter started showing in Switzerland already. I’m bored taking tea every time when I feel chilled. Need a change. So, my hot tomato soup comes handy.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes – 3 medium sized
  • Corn flour – 1 tsp
  • Butter – 1 tsp
  • Pepper (powdered) – ½ tsp
  • Salt – as per need
  • Water – little

Method

  1. Peel the skin of the tomatoes. Grind it and make into paste.
  2. Heat a pan. Add butter and pour the tomato paste in it.
  3. Add pepper and salt.
  4. Add required amount of water and allow it to boil
  5. When it starts boiling, add corn flour slowly and mix it evenly.
  6. Pour it in soup bowl and serve hot.

Hint: You can cut and toast a bread piece in little ghee. Add those toasted pieces above the tomato soup for an extra taste. Also can sprinkle coriander leaves on top of it.

Tomato soup, toasted cheese sandwiches, and a glass of milk–a great combination and one that I miss very much living here in Korea.

    Great write up!
